A Baltimore man has been charged with the murder of a 19-year-old following a deadly shooting reported last week in South Baltimore. Devin Shadle, 22, was apprehended last Wednesday, mere hours after the fatal incident that claimed the life of Davon Smallwood in the 1900 block of Harman Avenue. Responding to a call around 5:15 p.m., officers from the Baltimore Police Department found Smallwood with a gunshot wound and pronounced him dead at the scene, as FOX Baltimore reported.

Following the homicide, detectives located Shadle on the 2500 block of Washington Boulevard and transported him to the Central Booking & Intake Facility. He now faces murder charges. Previously in the year, Shadle was in the news for an alleged threat to his ex-girlfriend's mother in Morrell Park. During an incident last June, FOX Baltimore reported he was arrested.

In a separate incident last year, Shadle was connected to an armed robbery attempt and non-fatal shooting on the 1800 block of Desoto Road. The charges stemming from that incident in June 2024 were dismissed due to insufficient witness testimony, according to Baltimore Witness. A Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge acquitted him of all 13 charges related to the 2024 shooting.
