At the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit's Station 43 Open House & Christmas Fundraiser, a dog named Bonnie from the El Dorado County Animal Services - West Slope Shelter found her forever home. The event not only raised awareness for local pets in need but also brought the community together in support of adoption, as reported by the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit.
"After meeting Bonnie at the fundraiser, Dad returned to the shelter the next morning to complete the adoption - planning a surprise for his kids," the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit shared. The family created a special memory when the children came home from school to find Bonnie already part of their household.
According to the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit on their Facebook page, they helped at a community event to support animal adoptions, saying, "This is another example of partnership and community coming together." They expressed their appreciation to El Dorado County Animal Services and everyone who attended the fundraiser. At the event, Bonnie was adopted, while other dogs, Stitch and Jackson, are still looking for permanent homes, and the unit encouraged the community to consider giving them a family.
