Early this morning, a suspect was apprehended by downtown officers after a breaking and entering incident at a convenience store located on Summer Street, Boston. According to a police report, Michael Waterman, 40, of Boston was arrested and is facing multiple charges following the attempted theft.
At approximately 5:08 AM, a shattered glass door and missing cash register signaled a property crime at 50 Summer Street, drawing law enforcement to the scene in response to the radio call; officers located a person matching the suspect's description across the street, and it was when attempting to make an arrest that Waterman resisted and issued threats of violence against the officers. After the deployment of "multiple de-escalation tactics," as reported by the Boston Police Department, Waterman was subdued and taken into custody with the stolen goods recovered.
The suspect, Waterman, is scheduled for arraignment at the Boston Municipal Court, where he will answer to a slew of charges including larceny from a building, armed robbery, breaking and entering a building nighttime for a felony, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and threatening to commit a crime, as per the official police documentation.
