
Philadelphia residents will need to bundle up this week as winter settles in. The National Weather Service reports that light freezing drizzle started the morning, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 43°F expected. Winds will remain light, becoming westerly around 5 mph this afternoon.
Tonight will turn clearer with lows around 27°F and a light west wind near 5 mph. On Sunday, expect partly sunny skies with a high around 42°F and light northwest winds up to 5 mph.
Early in the workweek, the cold continues. Monday will be mostly sunny with highs near 33°F and a north wind of 10–15 mph, adding to the chill. Monday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the upper teens.
Tuesday will be sunny with highs near 36°F, followed by increasing clouds in the evening and lows around 29°F. Midweek brings a chance of rain starting Wednesday afternoon and continuing into Thursday and Friday, with highs in the mid-40s and lows in the upper 20s to mid-30s. Precipitation chances range from 30–40%, with a possible rain–snow mix late in the week.
