Two roommates from Brighton are now facing serious charges for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking from their apartment, as announced by Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden. The suspects, Vincenzo Porfino, 43, and William Nagle, 46, were charged on separate counts of trafficking methamphetamine of different quantities and also for class B possession with intent to distribute, according to a statement from the DA's office.
Following multiple complaints from the community regarding suspicious activities at their residence, Boston Police along with a federal Drug Enforcement Agency task force conducted surveillance and executed a search at 227 Faneuil Street finding various drugs paraphernalia, and cash, including $3591 and 98 counterfeit $100 bills, the defendants both have criminal histories, Porfino with convictions dating back to 1995 and Nagle as far back as 1997, for a range of offenses including firearms, domestic violence, drugs, and larceny for the former, and violent and drug charges for the latter, they were arraigned in Brighton BMC on Friday.
Nagle and Porfino were found to be residing in the apartment that was searched on December 11, where officers uncovered around 300 grams of crystal methamphetamine and prescription narcotics such as suboxone and Adderall, according to court documents. They are currently being held without bail pending a December 16 dangerousness hearing, a decision handed down by Judge Connor Barusch.
The successful operation highlights the ongoing partnership between community members and law enforcement in combating the distribution and use of narcotics. District Attorney Hayden praised the cooperative effort saying, "These are the sort of community and law enforcement partnerships that improve the quality of life for all our residents," as reported by the District Attorney's Office.
