In his extensive career, McGuire rose through the ranks, starting as a patrol officer and eventually leading the Operations Bureau as Captain. Not only did he distinctly manage to serve on the front lines, but he also played a critical role behind the scenes in narcotics investigations, criminal investigations, and operational leadership. It's noted that he was instrumental in building the Strategic Response Team, an initiative that reflects thoughtful staffing and leadership—a testament to McGuire's commitment to duty, as highlighted on the department's social media.
