
Cabarrus County residents should note upcoming holiday closures for government offices, parks, and facilities. In a December 22 announcement, the Cabarrus County listed affected services, including the Government Center, Animal Shelter, and county parks.
Cabarrus County government offices will be closed from tomorrow to Friday for Christmas and on January 1 for New Year’s Day. The closure includes the Government Center, Social Services, Veterans Services, the Animal Shelter, Active Living Centers, and LunchPlus Clubs.
County parks will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, and on January 1. All library branches will be closed from tomorrow through Friday and will close early at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Similarly, the Mt. Pleasant and Afton Ridge Active Living Centers will close at 5 p.m. on December 31 and remain closed on January 1.
The Cabarrus County Landfill will operate on its regular hours today, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed tomorrow through Friday and on January 1, but will reopen Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility reopens Monday, with the next HHW collection event on January 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Local government will be closed until the next Board of Commissioners Work Session on January 5, at 5 p.m. Many services will be unavailable during this time. For updates, visit the Cabarrus County website.
