A Canadian tourist was hospitalized Monday night following a stabbing near Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan. According to police sources cited by The New York Post, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. near 40th Street and Sixth Avenue. The 44-year-old man reported being stabbed in the leg while tying his shoe.
As of yesterday, no suspect had been apprehended, and police were still reviewing potential video footage to identify the assailant. The victim walked into a nearby store after being stabbed, was taken to Bellevue Hospital, and is reportedly in stable condition. Authorities described the attack as seemingly random.
Eyewitness News reported that the tourist did not initially realize the severity of the stabbing, noticing blood shortly after the incident. Local law enforcement continues to investigate the case.
