The crash happened just after 5:50 p.m. between North Main and Patton, and the southbound lanes were closed while investigators worked the scene.
According to Click2Houston, Houston police told reporters the person was standing in the center lane of the southbound mainlanes when they were struck and killed. Officers stayed on scene while the Vehicular Crimes Division processed evidence and documented the crash.
