The Rowan Cabarrus Community College in Kannapolis has recently enhanced its visual appeal with a generous dash of creative flair, thanks to the sculptor Charles Pilkey. Pilkey has bestowed upon the institution a noteworthy sculpture, fitting neatly into RCCC's expanding public art tableau.
The artwork titled "The Architect’s Dream," has been placed inside the Dr. Carol S. Spalding Advanced Technology Center on the North Carolina Research Campus, and Pilkey, who is known for his contributions to the Salisbury Sculpture Show, decided to gift the piece in light of his upcoming move to Japan according to a recent announcement.
Embodying RCCC's dedication to fostering a culture rich in arts, the new sculpture manifests the college's commitment to not just education, but also community engagement and cultural partnerships. The large indoor sculpture that abstractly conjures up the vast territory of an architect's creative volition, now enriches the campus's aesthetic repository which is already substantial and reflects an educational institution that values cultural assets.
Not content with just housing the sculpture, RCCC extends an open invitation to the public; encouraging visitors to come and witness "The Architect’s Dream" firsthand.
