Dense fog is reported in areas along Interstate 85, where visibility has been measured below 1 mile and as low as 1/4 mile at several observing sites, as per the NWS.
Wednesday and Thursday in Charlotte are expected to bring brighter skies and mild temperatures, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Rain chances return on Friday, with a 50% chance of precipitation by mid-morning and overcast conditions continuing, keeping highs near 40 degrees.
The weekend forecast for Charlotte shows an 80% chance of rain Friday night, followed by a lower but persistent chance of showers on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday night carries a 30% chance of rain, while Sunday is expected to be partly sunny with highs in the low 50s. The NWS advises residents to stay alert and prepared for sudden changes in early December weather.
