Drivers in the Charlotte County area should prepare for some slowdowns early this week. According to a recent traffic advisory posted by the county, Midway Boulevard will experience intermittent lane closures from Harbor Boulevard to Noble Terrace. The occasional blockage is due to Lumos Fiber installing underground fiber, and the work is scheduled between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from today through Wednesday.
The installation work by Lumos Fiber marks yet another step in the county's commitment to bolstering infrastructure and connectivity. As one official noted, it's important that "motorists to remain alert at all times and to exercise caution."
To help citizens navigate the construction, the Public Works Department has been transparent with the developments, ensuring the public is well informed. If residents or travelers have need for further information, they are directed to contact Basilio Frias at Lumos Fiber. The department's advisory contained Mr. Frias's contact number, 239-710-2258, to assist with any queries that may arise during the installation period.
