Skaters and park-goers in Charlotte County take note: Bissett Park Skate Park is getting fenced up for safety, and that means it'll be off-limits for a hot minute. Specifically, the fencing installation will commence on Dec. 22 and is slated to wrap the next day, according to an official announcement from the Charlotte County Government. While the other areas of Bissett Park will continue to be accessible to the public, the skate park section is going to be closed during this blink-and-you-miss-it construction marathon.
The Charlotte County is keen to keep everyone safe, so they're asking folks to smartly avoid the work zones and to generally use caution while these improvements are being made. It's a simple enough request, but we all know that sometimes people need to be reminded to not wander into potentially hazardous conditions. So consider this your heads-up to not try to squeeze in one last grind or kickflip on those ramps until after the work crews have packed up.
If you've got questions or want to voice comments about the skate park's temporary closure, you're free to shoot an email over to [email protected]. As per the official notice, the work is limited strictly to the skate park area. Which means, should you to decide to take a leisurely stroll or have a picnic, the rest of Bisset Park's offerings remain on the table for your outdoor pleasure.
