
Charlotte authorities are currently investigating a reported homicide that took place early Wednesday morning. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) Homicide Unit arrived at the scene in the 2700 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road after receiving a call about an assault with a deadly weapon, as reported by CMPD's Newsroom.
When officers got to the location, they found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds who was pronounced dead at the scene. The fatal incident reportedly happened just before 2:30 a.m., wherein Detective Grazier-Zerbarini has been designated as the lead investigator on the case. The CMPD's Public Affairs Division assures that as the investigation progresses, and additional information comes to light, it will become publicly available.
Collaborative efforts from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, the Charlotte Fire Department, and MEDIC are part of the ongoing response.
