During the week of Thanksgiving, Chesterfield police responded to 867 calls for service, filed 93 reports, and made 22 arrests. In a recent Facebook post, the department summarized the week’s activity, including reports of theft, impaired driving, and other holiday-related incidents.
Officers were dispatched to the Outlet Mall after reports of a theft, including items such as shower gel. According to the Chesterfield Police Department’s Facebook post, the suspect was quickly located and arrested, and the stolen items were returned to the store.
Officers also responded to a single-vehicle crash in which a car drove over a grassy median, struck a curb, and became disabled. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, failed field sobriety tests, and recorded a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit. The Chesterfield Police Department reminded the public that driving while impaired is illegal and dangerous.
The department also shared lighter holiday-related reports, including missing turkeys and complaints about over-eating relatives. In their Facebook post, they noted that "no fowl play is suspected" and described the incidents as "much ado about stuffing."
