The Chesterfield Police Department recently summarized their weekly activities, handling over a thousand calls and making several arrests noting some particularly dangerous behaviors among motorists and startling incidents at local businesses. According to a social media post by the Chesterfield Missouri Police Department, from November 30 to December 6, the force handled 1,016 calls for service, wrote 98 original reports, issued 122 citations, 95 warnings, and made 19 custodial arrests.
One of the highlighted incidents involved a driver who struggled to stay in a single lane, prompting an officer to initiate a traffic stop. The officer, detecting signs of intoxication, witnessed the driver fail sobriety tests and admited to having "one glass of wine." A breath test subsequently showed an alarming blood alcohol concentration of .208%. The post, replete with quips on the alphabet, reveals attempts to tersely warn of the consequences of drinking and driving.
In another cited episode, officers dispatched to a gas station found customers bewildered by the absence of any employees. Upon investigation, the authorities located an employee out of customer sight, who was allegedly using suspected fentanyl. Further checks brought to light active warrants on the suspect, who was then taken into custody after a medical evaluation. The post playfully notes the severity of doing drugs on the job with wordplay around fuel.
Yet another traffic stop involved an officer nearly being hit by a speeding vehicle. Upon stopping the car, the officer found the driver to be under the influence, a fact confirmed by the driver's admission of having "a glass of wine" and their poor performance on sobriety tests. The driver's breath test registered a blood alcohol concentration of .220%, culminating in an arrest for DWI and a sobering lesson for the holiday season about the risks of drunk driving, using festive language to underline the seriousness of the offense.
