Two Chicago brothers, Kavion and Eugene Davenport, face serious charges after being apprehended by the city's Robbery Task Force earlier this week. According to a report from the Chicago Police Department, Kavion Davenport, 18, and Eugene Davenport, 19, who both reside on the 5400 block of W. Melrose St., were arrested in connection with a series of burglaries across the city. The younger Davenport is facing four felony counts of burglary and one misdemeanor count for criminal trespass to a vehicle. His elder brother Eugene has been slapped with the same four felony burglary counts in addition to one felony count for receiving, possessing, or selling a stolen vehicle, and another for aggravated fleeing that resulted in over $300 of property damage.
On the afternoon of December 17, the siblings were detained after members of the task force located them on the 4100 block of W. 70th St. and W. 69th Pl. As they sat in a stolen vehicle reported missing a day prior, their arrest marked the end of what appears multiple burglary incidents spanning from early November to their date of apprehension. Starting with a break-in reported on November 4, 2025, at an address on W. Nelson St., both individuals were linked to crimes on N. Lawndale Ave, N. Greenview Ave, and W. Wellington Ave, culminating in a spree on December 17 — within a span of hours.
Their detention hearing has been scheduled for December 19, 2025, at the address, 2600 S. California Ave., where further proceedings on their case will continue. The Chicago Police have not released additional information about their case or the brothers' alleged crime spree. The stolen vehicle, taken from a 30-year-old woman between December 16 and 17, was where officers found, placing the Davenports into custody and charging them with the crimes listed.
