The holiday spirit is being tackled head-on by the Cincinnati Bengals this season as they partner with Hamilton County Job & Family Services to give back in a big way. This Sunday, Dec. 14, fans heading to the Bengals game at 1 p.m. are encouraged to bring a little extra cheer — in the form of new, unwrapped toys for foster and kinship children under the county's care. The goal is to give every one of these children, over 2,100 strong, at least one special gift to unwrap over the holiday season.
According to a release from Hamilton County, director Michael Patton expressed his gratitude for the support: "We just can’t thank the Bengals and their incredible fans enough for this tremendous boost,” he said. “Every toy makes a difference in making this season special for a child in care. We couldn’t ask for better supporters. Who Dey!” The Bengals are leveraging their platform and wide-reaching fan base to positively impact the lives of children who rely on community efforts to feel the warmth of the season.
Volunteers from JFS will be stationed at the four main entrances of Paycor Stadium, ready to accept toy donations from generous game-goers. Additionally, Bengal Jim's tailgate will also serve as a collection point. Those attending the game are asked to contribute their donations before heading into the stadium to catch the action — a simple gesture that could bring immeasurable joy to a young one.
But even if fans find themselves empty-handed on Sunday, the team has provided a digital assist. Large QR codes will be prominently displayed at each entrance, linking directly to the JFS Amazon Wish List. This allows anyone to quickly purchase a gift that will be delivered straight to the toy shop. Patton's message makes clear the significant difference such gestures make. As the season of giving ramp up, the Bengals' commitment to sharing the festive spirit extends beyond the gridiron, enriching the lives of many children within their community.
