The Citrus Heights City Council has appointed the city’s next leaders. According to Citrus Heights, during a meeting yesterday, MariJane Lopez-Taff was named mayor and Porsche Middleton was named vice mayor, with both set to serve for the upcoming year.
MariJane Lopez-Taff, elected in November 2022 to represent District 2, previously served as vice mayor before being appointed mayor. Porsche Middleton, also elected in November 2022 to represent District 5, has been appointed vice mayor.
The annual appointments demonstrate the routine procedures of the city council. Council meetings are held twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays, and agendas and minutes are available on the city’s website.
