
Clay County Sheriff’s Office Detective Grubbs recently hosted a Fraud Awareness Workshop in Green Cove Springs to help protect seniors from scams. According to a CCSO social media post, Grubbs shared practical tips and real-life examples to show the types of fraud that older adults may face.
Detective Grubbs will continue sharing fraud prevention tips with seniors at upcoming events. He will present in Middleburg at the Middleburg Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a session at the Orange Park Senior Center the next day from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. The CCSO aims to help seniors stay informed and protected against scams.
The workshops aim to protect seniors from common scams, including phishing emails and impostor schemes. In a Facebook post, the CCSO emphasized, “Knowledge is power, and staying informed is the best defense.”
The CCSO thanked Aging True for organizing the event and the seniors who participated in the workshop.
