In the wake of a devastating house fire that left a Cobb County paraprofessional and her family without a home, the local school community has shown its strength and compassion through collective action. Margeaux Strasburger, an integral part of the Allatoona High School staff, her children who also attend schools in Cobb, were the recipients of this outpouring of community support, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.
Just days ahead of the holiday seasons, virtuous circles of philanthropy spun their webs, as Allatoona, Harrison, and Ford schools rallied to gather donations, essentials, and gifts to aid the Strasburgers, and according to a Cobb Schools report, they did so in the tokens of monetary pledges and the kindled twinkles of professional Christmas decorations provided by K. Mike Whittle Designs in the family's rental space.
Margeaux Strasburger expressed heartfelt gratitude amidst the delivery of not just presents but a testament to the community’s solidarity, "Thank you so much," she told staff, as featured in a district-shared video. Allatoona High School Principal Lexie Bostick reinforced this sentiment, stating, "Supporting Margeaux and her family right now is important to Allatoona because she is family and because she has poured so much of herself into supporting our students," Bostick told FOX 5 Atlanta.
Appreciating the cyclical nature of support, Harrison High School Assistant Principal Shaleen Kappel recognized Strasburger's own contributions by saying the school was "inspired to help a family that has supported others and is so deserving of this support," as shared by Cobb Schools.
