As Colorado prepares to say its final goodbyes to Senator Faith Winter, Governor Jared Polis has directed a symbolic gesture to honor her service. Public buildings throughout the state will lower their flags to half-staff from sunrise on December 5 until sunset the following day. This order coincides with the planned memorial and celebration of life for the late senator.
The impact of Senator Winter's work was felt far and wide across Colorado, particularly in her advocacy for environmental issues and family welfare. "Faith was a steady, compassionate, and fierce advocate for all families in Colorado," Governor Polis said, as reported by the Colorado Governor's Office. He continued to praise her dedication and influence on the state's legislature, stating, "Faith’s dedication improved the lives of all Coloradans."
Senator Winter's career, which began as an environmental advocate, eventually led her to the Colorado General Assembly, where she served with a clear vision for a better future. Among her numerous contributions, she left a mark on the state's policies concerning women's rights and family issues. This legacy stands as a testament to the passion and perseverance with which she approached her role as a public servant.
