In a social media post earlier this week, the department announced that Columbus Fire Recruit Class 124 has completed their training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic life support (BLS)—essential skills critical for saving lives in emergencies. According to Columbus Division of Fire's Post, "This essential training is a prerequisite for both fire and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) classes, ensuring all recruits are equipped with lifesaving skills before advancing in their specialized training."
Last Friday, recruits of the Red Company successfully completed their CPR/BLS certification, and they are now poised to embark on the fire training segment of the academy. Following suit, Blue Company wrapped up their certification on Monday and will now jump into EMT training, fitting the pieces of their professional puzzle as they work towards becoming fully-fledged emergency responders.
