On the first day of December, a stark incident unfolded on Brice Road, where Columbus Police Patrol officers responded to a distressing report of assault. As divulged in a Columbus Division of Police government press release, two adults were found in the aftermath of violence, their conditions a stark mirror of the event's severity – one was unresponsive, heightened to the point of needing urgent medical attention.
This grave scenario took place around 12:18 PM in the 2700 block of Brice Road. Truro Township Medic 162 swiftly intervened to transport the critically injured victim, leaving the scene tattooed with cause for alarm. The survivor with less severe wounds did not require such transportation. Given the life-threatening nature of one victim's injuries, the Homicide Unit has stepped in to seek out the truth, to unfold the narrative hidden within the silence of injury.
The scars left behind by violence too often whisper foretellings of deeper transgressions, a cruel reality this incident did not escape. By December 4, the Columbus Division of Police had arrested Ja'Quawn Bridgmon, implicating him with two counts of Felonious Assault. The turn of events followed an intensive fact-finding by investigators, laying the ground for the charges levied against Bridgmon.
