
The County of Kaua‘i announced holiday closures in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day. According to a County of Kauai press release, county offices will be closed Dec. 25 for Christmas Day and Jan. 1, 2026. The closures also affect several county facilities.
The closures include all neighborhood centers, refuse transfer stations, the Kekaha Landfill, the Puhi Metals Recycling Center, the Līhu‘e HI5 Redemption Center, all HI5 Redemption Centers, and the Waimea and Kapa‘a swimming pools. Residential refuse collection will continue on its regular schedule.
The Kaua‘i Bus will operate on its regular schedule on both holidays. County offices and services will resume normal business hours the day after each holiday, according to the release.
