Holidays often mean a pause in the everyday hustle, but for residents of Dallas and nearby cities, it's essential to keep track of changes to services like trash pickup. According to Patch, Dallas city offices, libraries, and other facilities will close on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, though crucial services such as police and fire departments remain operational. The Dallas residents will see their garbage and recycling collection shifted to Friday and Saturday for both holiday weeks.
Over in Grapevine, Colleyville, and Southlake, trash service schedules will also be altered. Community Impact reports that Grapevine's trash pickup for Dec. 25 has been moved to Dec. 26, and the same pattern is noted for New Year's Day, with a one-day delay following the holiday. Colleyville will follow a similar shift, moving Dec. 25 services to Dec. 26, and for those who usually have Friday service, pick-ups will occur on Dec. 27.
Southlake is preparing its residents for similar changes, having no trash or recycling collection on Dec. 25, pushing those services to the 26th, and likewise adjusting the following day's schedule. Beyond waste management, city offices and the Southlake Public Library will be closed Dec. 24-25 and on New Year's Day. They also announced that Champions Club and the Southlake Pickleball Complex will observe holiday hours or closures.
