Davis residents will not be able to use city fields or the community pump track over the festive weekend due to wet conditions and the forecast of more harsh weather. The Playfields Synthetic Soccer field, however, remains open for use, and all other fields will be re-evaluated on December 29, according to the City of Davis.
City officials have banned the use of all other facilities to prevent potential risks, even if no signs are posted. As a reminder, the City of Davis website stated on Monday, "Regardless if a sign is posted, all fields are still closed."
Local fields and tracks are temporarily closed to protect surfaces and ensure safety during the holiday season. Residents should use indoor alternatives and can report any violations by calling the Davis Police Department non-emergency line at (530) 747-5400. The closures will remain until conditions improve, as stated by the City of Davis.
