An early morning fire broke out in the 4200 block of Gorman St SE. The DC Fire and EMS Department reported that the fire was confined to a first-floor kitchen and had been brought under control.

The situation prompted an emergency response that included assisting several residents out of the structure, as per the DC Fire and EMS Department. All evaluated individuals by the EMS did not require further medical assistance following their rescue. Fire investigators are on the scene.
