A somber discovery was made near a popular Tavares bike trail when skeletal remains were found in a wooded area adjoining the pathway. Authorities from the Tavares Police Department reported the finding yesterday, noting its proximity to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites on U.S. Highway 441, as ClickOrlando detailed.
Confirming the ongoing investigation, the city’s police department iterated its commitment to discovering the truth behind the remains, a statement that was reported by WESH. "Our agency is working closely with the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the identity of the individual and establish the cause and manner of death," said Tavares police in a statement posted to social media.
