The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the Dallas-Fort Worth area and other parts of north central and northeast Texas, cautioning drivers to be wary of low visibility on the roads. According to the advisory, which remains in effect until 9 AM CST this morning, visibility may drop to a quarter mile or less due to dense fog. The impacted regions include notable cities such as Arlington, Denton, and Plano, amongst others. As reported by the National Weather Service, "Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous."
In response to the fog, drivers are advised to slow down, use low beam headlights, and maintain ample distance between vehicles to ensure safety. After the fog lifts, Dallas is forecasted to experience a gradual clearing with the day becoming mostly sunny, peaking at a high near 56 degrees with a north wind blowing at speeds between 10 to 15 mph, as gusts may reach up to 25 mph, the National Weather Service details.
Following tonight's chilly low around 33 degrees, the sun is expected to continue shining through the week, with highs ranging from the low 50s to the upper 60s. Particularly, Tuesday and Wednesday are predicted to have a sunny disposition with highs in the mid-60s and light winds shifting from the south to the north in the afternoons, which may bring a more vibrant warmth to the Texan air.
For those planning ahead, the latter part of the week also promises clear skies. Thursday is slated to mirror Wednesday's conditions with a high near 67 degrees, and as the National Weather Service projects, a turn towards cooler temperatures will close out the week, moving into the weekend. Dropping to a low around 36 degrees Thursday night, the region will see a sunny Friday with highs near 50, followed by a crisp low around 29 that evening. Saturday's forecast indicates a continuation of sunny weather, hitting a high near 47 degrees.
