The post recounted an incident where a motorist, seeking to circumvent traffic, navigated past orange cones and straight into an open construction pit. The driver's vehicle became disabled, leading to a series of consequences detailed by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
"This driver thought it was a good idea to go around the orange construction cones to bypass traffic. Instead, they ended up driving over an open construction hole, disabling their vehicle," stated the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. The driver was subsequently handed a reckless driving ticket, which was further compounded by doubled fines due to the construction zone infraction. A substantial tow bill was also part of the driver's woes.
