A man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Dublin, as the local authorities took swift action in response to the violent incident.
On Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 10, Dublin Police and emergency services from the Washington Township Fire Department were called to an apartment at Briardale Lane, where they found a 33-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound, he was reportedly shot by Chazmyne Zhaze Jackson, 32, who was identified as a friend by the victim's girlfriend, this according to the initial 911 call made by the female.
The Dublin Police Department reported that the shooting seems to have stemmed from a domestic issue earlier that day between the victim and his girlfriend. All parties involved stayed at the scene until the police arrived, according to the City of Dublin official website.
Officers quickly secured the scene and the weapon believed to be used in the crime, while Jackson, who was detained and interrogated by detectives at the Dublin Justice Center, is now being held at Franklin County Jail.
The injured man was transported to OSU Wexner Medical Center and is expected to recover from his non-life-threatening injuries, as the community grapples with the shockwaves of such violence breaking their perceived serenity.
