A single-vehicle crash in Sacramento County early Wednesday morning resulted in at least one fatality, with bad weather likely contributing. The vehicle went off the road and hit a telephone pole near Franklin Boulevard and Point Pleasant Road, close to Elk Grove, as reported by KCRA.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed that no other vehicles were involved, though the number of occupants is unknown. The accident happened just before 6 a.m., during low visibility and slick road conditions.
The California Highway Patrol's South Sacramento Division reported that a single-vehicle crash occurred when the vehicle spun out and hit a pole. "The weather appears to be a factor in the crash," the California Highway Patrol said, as mentioned by FOX40. Authorities are still investigating, and the victim's identity has not been released.
