A house fire in Edgewood has left one person without a home. According to NottinghamMD, Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company (JMVFC) and supporting teams from surrounding areas, including the Abingdon Fire Company, were swiftly on the scene at the 100 block of Redbud Road after the incident was reported at around 5 p.m.

According to the JMVFC, as reported by FOX Baltimore, it took about 35 firefighters to get the flames under control within a brisk 20 minutes. Despite the pressing urgency and potential for harm, officials reported that there were no injuries following the event.

The State Fire Marshal has since assessed the fire as accidental, with the point of origin being a malfunction in the home's chimney flue. This determination was further substantiated by the substantial damages suffered by the structure, which are estimated to be in the region of $50,000.
