CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit and the El Dorado County Fire Protection District partnered this holiday season to deliver more than 600 gifts, along with gift cards and donations, to New Morning Youth and Family Services. The donations came from a community fundraiser held earlier in December and are part of an annual effort supporting local youth and families, as reported by the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit.

“This moment belongs to our community! This weekend, CAL FIRE AEU and El Dorado County Fire Protection District delivered more than 600 gifts – along with gift cards and donations – to New Morning Youth & Family Services,” CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit shared in a social media post. Shelter staff noted that last year’s donations lasted throughout the year, and the new contributions will allow them to continue providing support.

The CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit reported that community donations have helped shelters continue services throughout the year. The unit stated, “We were reminded just how impactful this generosity is when shelter staff shared that they had just used the last of last year’s gifts to support families in need. Because of you, they’re now set up to continue that support throughout the year.” The post noted that the donations help keep resources available beyond the holiday season and concluded with a message of thanks, saying, “Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing up in a big way and making a real difference,” according to the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit on their Facebook page.
