As the holiday cheer permeates El Paso, schools in the El Paso ISD are dedicating their efforts to spreading joy in the community through various charity initiatives. Irvin High School's "Irvin Angels" program has entered its ninth year, with a focus on fulfilling holiday wishes for students. This program invites students to express their wishes before Thanksgiving and sees teachers, local organizations, and community members band together fulfill these requests as many as they can. According to El Paso ISD, some students ask for basic needs like shoes, while others aim for more sentimental gifts. "We have been very fortunate that our community, including our teachers, local organizations, and families, comes together to help us get gifts for our students," the organizers expressed. "Seeing students receive these gifts is incredibly heartwarming, and we do our best to make the holiday season special for them."

Adding to the seasonal gestures, Jefferson Silva High School continued its "Wave of Love" tradition with the Lighting of the Heart event. This annual ritual aims to show support for patients at the neighboring El Paso Children’s Hospital, with the heart's illumination acting as a beacon of hope. "Jefferson is always going to be in my heart. All the staff was there to help me during a rough time in my life," Evelyn Langlet, a former Jefferson student, told El Paso ISD. "I’m glad to be here and honored to be part of something so meaningful. This event really touched my heart."

Across the district, EPISD has shown its dedication to the community through various charitable acts, including its partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps' annual Toys for Tots campaign. This campaign, running from December 1 through December 12, encouraged participants to donate new, unwrapped toys for children in need across the region. In a similar vein of charity, Dr. Torres Elementary led a canned food drive to support the local community. This effort, among others, highlights the district's commitment to whole-child development and emphasizes the value of teamwork.
