
A structure fire in Sunrise Manor on Monday morning killed an elderly woman. The Clark County Fire Department responded to the fire at a single-family home at 6900 Stone Meadows Avenue, near Charleston and Hollywood, at 11:24 a.m., according to FOX5 Vegas.
Clark County Fire Department reported that their units arrived to a "well-involved with fire" scene in Sunrise Manor on Monday, and an interior attack was initiated before firefighters had to evacuate due to a collapsing roof, as reported by KTNV. After bringing the fire under control, crews discovered an elderly woman dead inside, and three firefighters sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
Animal Control confirmed that one cat also died in the fire, and CCFD deployed 55 firefighters with support from Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, Southwest Gas, and NV Energy to manage the situation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and "no damage estimates were available" at the time, with authorities urging the community to stay updated as more details become available, as noted by KTNV.
