An Elk Grove Police Department motor officer was involved in a collision yesterday. According to a Facebook post, the officer, responding to another incident with lights and siren activated, was struck while turning from Promenade Parkway onto Grant Line Road when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction collided with the motorcycle.
The incident led to a temporary diversion of westbound Kammerer Road traffic while investigators responded. The motor officer was not injured but was taken to a local hospital for evaluation as a precaution. The Elk Grove Police Department confirmed on social media that the officer sustained no injuries.
The cause of the collision is under investigation, and authorities have not yet released details on what led to the incident.
