
A residence on Travis Avenue in Elmont became the scene of a fatal stabbing Sunday afternoon. Police said 33-year-old Jasson Phillips was pronounced dead, and his housemate, 23-year-old Desean Harrison, has been charged with murder, according to ABC7NY.
Authorities responded to the scene around 1 p.m. and found Phillips with multiple stab wounds following an apparent domestic dispute. The intersection of Travis and Sweetman avenues was closed for several hours during the investigation and later reopened, as reported by News 12 Long Island.
He was charged with second-degree murder and was arraigned on Monday. Family members described Jasson Phillips as a dedicated individual who had worked with children with developmental disabilities and had faced personal challenges, as per information shared with News 12 Long Island.
