A disturbance in Healdsburg yesterday resulted in the arrest of a man with an outstanding felony warrant after reports of erratic behavior at a local bus stop. According to the Healdsburg Police Department's social media, officers responded to the scene on Healdsburg Avenue, where they encountered the suspect, Taylor Hampton, behaving erratically and throwing objects at vehicles. A concerned citizen had alerted the authorities.
Upon arrival, officers had their hands full as they subdued Hampton, who, while being detained, launched verbal assaults and ambiguous threats against them. The woman, who had initially been at the bus stop as well, reported feeling threatened by Hampton, who wielded a large glass bottle, before she took flight out of fear. Police said the glass was later found scattered across the roadway, consistent with the reported intimidation.
The subsequent arrest revealed the deeper woes of Hampton, a 29-year-old Santa Rosa resident, whose name, upon checking, showed that he had an unresolved score with justice, a felony warrant outstanding in San Francisco.
