The holiday season is in full swing, and the Euless Family Life Senior Center is rolling out a roster of festive activities that promise to be as engaging as they are joyous. Seniors in Euless are invited to take part in a series of events that have been curated with their interests and enjoyment in mind.
First up, on the calendar, is an excursion to the Fort Worth Zoo, scheduled for Wednesday, December 17, at 9 a.m., where holiday decor will set a merry scene. This is not just a feast for the eyes; it's also a chance to engage in some light physical activity since walking is part of the plan. Transportation is sorted, so participants need only bring their holiday spirit and $20 for entry. However, it's important to note that the space is limited, so early registration is advised, as per the information provided by the City of Euless.
Food is a rich tapestry in the holiday tradition, and the Senior Center weaves a communal thread with the Christmas Potluck on Friday, December 19, at 6:30 p.m. Diners can bring their favorite dish to share, creating a buffet that's not just about satiating hunger but about sharing stories and building friendships around the table. The center contributes to the spread with meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Those not inclined to cook can still participate by contributing $10.00 by December 1, to have the center provide their side dish.
To cap off the year, the seniors will have a daytime celebration on New Year’s Eve, December 31, at 11 a.m. With special music and dancing on the docket, the lunch is more than a meal; it's a gateway to reminiscence and an embrace of the year to come. For a nominal fee of $5.00, seniors can join in the festivity that promises to provide fun and fellowship.
