Arlington is offering a full slate of free cultural and holiday-themed events from December 3 to 8, providing residents with opportunities to enjoy local art, music, and seasonal activities.
The week begins with First Thursdays in Downtown Arlington, where attendees can experience live musical performances, explore artistic displays, and engage with local businesses in a refreshed setting. The event aims to highlight the city’s creative community while encouraging foot traffic in the downtown district.
Families can also participate in the Letters to Santa program at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library on Thursday, December 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. According to the City of Arlington, a postage stamp is required to mail each letter, though a limited number will be available from on-site “elves.” The event provides children with the chance to send their holiday wishes directly to Santa.
Music enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy Holiday Jazz in the Plaza the same evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Center Plaza. Featuring the UTA Jazz Quartet, the event will include seasonal selections and classic jazz favorites. Complimentary hot cocoa will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.
