The Fairfield community recently came together in an effort to locate a missing at-risk adult, Jason Ortiz Arriola, but the search ended in tragedy. According to an update from the Fairfield Police Department, the 48-year-old Fairfield resident was found deceased yesterday. Arriola was initially reported missing after leaving his home on November 17, prompting calls for community assistance to aid in his search.
Arriola, identified as a Filipino male, 5'10", weighing 205 lbs, and easily recognizable for his distinctive full-sleeve tattoos, was last seen wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, black Nike Tech pants, and a faded camo beanie, with gray/black/white Nike running shoes. He left his home near the intersection of Cement Hill Road and Claybank Road, in Fairfield, riding a blue and red Trek mountain bike, as captured by a home security camera at around 4:20 PM, Hoodline reported.
Despite efforts by concerned citizens and the coordination of local law enforcement, the conclusion of this search highlights a grim reality. Officers located Mr. Arriola in a wooded area near the trail connecting Paradise Valley Road to Lagoon Valley. The Fairfield Police said, "Tragically, he was found deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted injury." They also confirmed that no foul play is suspected at this time.
The police have expressed their appreciation for the support from the neighborhood HOA, the Vacaville Police Department, and the Solano County Sheriff’s Office for their collaborative assistance throughout this investigation. The Fairfield Police Department extended "our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Arriola’s loved ones" in their statement.
