
Early this morning, a severe house fire inflicted significant damage on a Lake Mary home and claimed the life of a dog. WFTV reported that the blaze began shortly after 4:30 a.m. along Short Street, in proximity to the junction of Lake Mary Boulevard and Country Club Road. Responding rapidly, firefighters from Lake Mary and Seminole County arrived to discover the house engulfed in flames.
The concerted efforts of the Lake Mary, Sanford, and Seminole County fire departments were required to battle the fire, with officials stating close to 6 a.m. that the fire had been subdued. According to additional details provided by ClickOrlando, two adults, two teens, a dog, and a cat managed to escape the fire, but a second dog tragically did not survive.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, while the Red Cross has stepped in to support the affected family. Channel 9 has made inquiries to the Lake Mary Fire Department to ascertain the full extent of the home's damage and confirm if there were any other casualties suffered during the incident.
