In the early hours of a December morning, tragedy struck on Reisterstown Road in Pikesville, leaving one dead and two others injured. Fox Baltimore reported that the fatal accident occurred earlier today, around 12:30 a.m., involving a 2004 Toyota Corolla and a 2020 Lexus RX350.
According to the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team, the Corolla, driven by 22-year-old Jefferson Mena-Rivas, was traveling southbound when the vehicle collided with the Lexus as it was making a left turn from the I-695 exit ramp. Celebrating his birthday, Mena-Rivas unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, striving to piece together how the night took such a harrowing turn.
WMAR-2 News adds that a female passenger in the Toyota was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries following the crash. The extent of her condition remains unclear, and her identity has not been disclosed.
Further details from Fox Baltimore indicate that the driver of the Lexus, also injured in the collision, was transported to the hospital with injuries considered minor.
