The Fernandina Beach Fire Department Local 2836 took to social media on Christmas Eve to express their gratitude to the numerous individuals and organizations who pitched in to ensure that the Nassau Angel Tree initiative succeeded in bringing joy to many during this holiday season. According to their Facebook post, the generosity of donors made it possible for children and families across Nassau County to revel in the warmth and magic that Christmas promises, and ensured that essentials like clothing and food were provided.
Within their message, the FBFD singled out Mrs. Wanda Nichols for her seven years of unwavering dedication to the venture. Originally a one-time effort, Nichols' commitment helped to transform the Angel Tree into a lasting community tradition. "Because of your generosity, children and families across Nassau County will experience the warmth, joy, and magic of Christmas—some for the first time," the Fernandina Beach Fire Department stated. This initiative was also supported by Nassau County Fire Rescue Professionals Local 3101, who partnered with the FBFD in this philanthropic collaboration.
Additionally, accolades were extended to Centered on Yoga for their substantial contribution and community fellowship. The fire department highlighted the importance of such partnerships that amplify the collective efforts to provide a brighter holiday season for the less fortunate. "We would like to extend an additional and heartfelt thank you to Centered on Yoga for their generous support and community spirit," FBFD Local 2836 acknowledged, as reported by the Fernandina Beach Fire Department official Facebook page.
The department's social media post ultimately underscored the impact of communal efforts, stating, "Together, we are proving what can be accomplished when a community comes together with compassion and purpose." Fervent in their appreciation, the Fernandina Beach Fire Department extended its thanks to all who contributed, reminding donors of all sizes that their actions have a tangible effect on the lives of others. "From all of us at FBFD Local 2836—thank you for helping ensure that every Angel is chosen and every child has a Christmas to remember," the department communicated on social media.
