The Fernandina Beach Police Department has announced road closures for the annual Dickens on Centre event. The festival will transform downtown into a Victorian-themed holiday celebration, and the closures are intended to maintain public safety. According to a department social media post, streets in the downtown festival area will be fully closed from Thursday at 3:00 p.m. through December 14 at midnight.
As per a social media post by the department, travelers and residents are asked to observe “No Parking” restrictions, with towing enforced to keep streets clear. Affected areas include sections of Front Street up to 4th Street and Centre Street, as well as portions of streets between Ash Street and Alachua Street, and N. 2nd and 3rd Streets down to Centre Street. The police department is encouraging the public to plan ahead to avoid disruptions during the holiday event.
During Dickens on Centre, visitors can expect to encounter a variety of guests, vendors, and performers participating in the festival’s activities.
