This morning, the Tess Corners Fire Department responded to a fire at Bass Bay Brewhouse in Muskego. According to a social media post, Units arrived around 6:00 a.m. to find flames on the north side of the building spreading through the structure. All occupants were evacuated before firefighters began suppression efforts. A 2nd alarm was called through the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System, bringing assistance from neighboring fire departments.
The fire fight was complicated by freezing temperatures and a lack of nearby hydrants, which made controlling the blaze more challenging. The public has been advised to avoid the area to allow emergency crews to work safely. Tess Corners Fire Department reported that the cause of the fire is still unknown and that an investigation will begin once suppression efforts are complete.
During the incident, support was provided by numerous regional departments and agencies, including Rochester, Mukwonago, Elm Grove, New Berlin, Village of Vernon, Franklin, Greendale, and Town of Brookfield Fire Departments, as well as Western Lakes Fire District, Kettle Moraine Fire, Tichigan Volunteer Fire Company, Muskego Police Department, Raymond Fire, and the Salvation Army. Tess Corners Fire Department noted that any assisting agency unintentionally omitted from the list is still appreciated for their efforts.
Operations at Bass Bay Brewhouse remain suspended until further notice. The full extent of the fire damage has not yet been determined and will be reported as more information becomes available. Local authorities and community members acknowledge the impact of the incident on the Muskego area.
