Firefighters battled a significant blaze at a residence in Jefferson Hills last night, as reported by local dispatchers. The fire, which ignited on the 6600 block of Willem Drive around 9 p.m., required several hours of effort from emergency crews to extinguish. Details from Audacy indicate that multiple fire departments were called to the scene to manage the flames that engulfed the two-story home.
Upon arrival, just six minutes after the 9:01 p.m. emergency call, firefighters witnessed the fire consuming the wood-framed house from all floors, with the inferno reportedly starting on the back porch, according to WPXI. No one inside the home was found after a thorough search conducted by the firefighters.
Jefferson Hills Fire-Rescue shared on Facebook that about 10 of their members were active on-scene for approximately four hours to control the fiery ordeal. While these crews were engaged, Allegheny County Engine 154 and Westmoreland Tower 48 stepped in to provide coverage within the borough.
No injuries have fortunately been reported in the incident, with crews succeeding in their efforts without sustaining casualties.
