
A 27-year-old Florida man was killed Monday morning in a high-speed crash on the Vine Street Expressway near I-676 and Broad Street in Center City, Philadelphia, NBC10 reports. The man’s dark-colored Toyota Corolla struck the rear of a stopped utility truck during heavy traffic at about 9:57 a.m.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Eastbound lanes of the Vine Street Expressway were temporarily closed and redirected around 11 a.m. for cleanup, causing significant congestion during the Monday morning rush. The highway has since reopened.

Pennsylvania State Police who arrived at the scene just before 10 a.m. indicated that the cause of the incident appeared to stem from the car colliding into the utility truck that was stationary due to traffic congestion.
